Step Deck Trailers

When your freight needs more height clearance and flexibility, a standard flatbed won’t do. That’s where our Step Deck (Drop Deck) Trailers come in. Designed for taller cargo and heavy-duty loads, our Drop Deck Trailers offer the flexibility standard flatbeds can’t match. With a lower deck height, loading and unloading are easier, especially for oversized equipment and machinery.

Meets all OFC, AAR, DOT, FMVSS, ISO, SAE, and TTMA regulations and is applicable to operate in the United States.

Difference between Step Deck vs Flat Bed Trailers

Step Deck Trailers offer a lower main deck height (38"–42") and greater height clearance, making them ideal for hauling tall or oversized loads up to 10 feet without special permits. Unlike Standard Flatbed Trailers, which have a single higher deck (48"–60") and max out at 8'6" cargo height, drop decks feature two levels for added flexibility.

Loading is easier thanks to the lower deck, reducing the need for ramps or lifting equipment. step decks are better suited for heavy-duty freight like machinery and construction equipment, while flatbeds are ideal for standard palletized goods and general cargo. Both can handle similar weight capacities (48,000–80,000 lbs), but drop decks offer greater versatility and DOT compliance for tall loads.
